1924年，Poul Henningsen開始設計一系列可避免炫光干擾，由多層燈罩組成的桌燈和吊燈；據說，PH燈上那具優雅弧度的燈罩，靈感來自於一組疊起來的杯子、碗和盤子。 
PH 5 lamp提供100％無眩光源。它的設計是基於反射三遮閉系統，引導光源向下發散，並發出橫向光源，照亮本體。桌燈燈罩由口吹蛋白石三層玻璃製成，上面有光澤，下面有噴砂啞光，營造出柔和的光氛表現。
