Catellani & Smith 創立於1989 年，在歐洲古典主義盛行的奢華水晶燈飾風潮中，開創了全新的光影美學藝術，以設計師對生活品味的獨特觀點與原創精神，打造出以光影設計為本的精湛工藝表現。

Enzo Catellani 是國際知名的光影美學設計大師，1950 年生於義大利 Zibello，1976 年起開始其燈具設計生涯。他的光影創意手法聞名世界各地，為什麼我們不稱 EnzoCatellani 為燈飾設計師呢？因為在他的哲學裡，燈飾是靜態的傢俱裝置，是功能性導向的家飾品；但是光影是具變化性的想像空間投射，是藝術導向的美學表現；所以在英文裡面，我們稱 Catellani 的作品為「Lighting」而非「Lamp」。

Albero della Luce是Catellani & smith 系列中商品中，最具有辨識性的作品，搭配蛇管(Flex)使用36顆球泡燈，營造點點熒光的璀璨感，並以燈體為輔，營造熒光點滿整顆茂密的大樹般的神秘氣氛，能夠為空間帶來截然不同的氛圍。
